Coral Gables, FL (May 16, 2008) School of Communication Knight Chairs in Journalism, Joe Treaster and Rich Beckman, visited New York City and the Nation’s Capital to meet School of Communication alumni and other notable guests the week of May 12-16. The New York City and Washington, D.C. introductions of the Knight Chairs were led by Dean Sam Grogg who also moderated a brief discussion on the convergence of global media with the Chairs.

The May 13 event was held in the Yale Club of New York City, and guests included 12th Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Paul Volcker, and representatives of the United Nations, The New York Times, Time Magazine, ABC and CBS.  The May 15th evening reception was held in the National Press Club of Washington D.C. and was attended by many alumni, and other communication industry professionals including Online Editor for Washington Post Newsweek Interactive, Tom Kennedy, and Reporter Kristin Volk of United Press International.
