Kent State University Stark Campus, led by Dean Betsy V. Boze, will celebrate Earth Day 2008 by sponsoring the United States Premiere of “One Water,” a film that celebrates the planet’s relationship to water, at 7:30 p.m. April 22 at the Palace Theatre in downtown Canton.
The showing will be the first public screening of the film, produced by the University of Miami, since the film’s world premiere opening at the Miami International Film Festival.
Tickets are required for the free event and can be obtained at the Palace Theatre box office or the Kent State Stark main hall information desk at 6000 Frank Ave., NW in Jackson Township.
The documentary shows the state of the world’s fresh water and its affect on people, which is becoming more aggravated by population growth and climate change, and compromises the future of all life on the planet. It also raises the essential question about clean, safe water being a basic human right.
