The PRSSA elections were held Thursday, April 23 in Shoma Hall. Members of the club joined together to honor their graduating seniors and vote for the organization’s new executive board committee. Current president, Gabby Reyes, kicked off the event giving a speech that thanked each and every member for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. She emphasized how far along PRSSA has come since she first joined the club. “We have more members than ever before, and more funds and awareness than ever before. I am very pleased with the results. Being your president was the best part of my year,” she stated.

Andrea Faria was elected as new PRSSA president for the upcoming 2015-2016 academic year. Although Andrea was not present at the event, she filmed a video that was shown to the members who attended. She promoted her experience with the club and offered her new ideas to help get more members involved. “My main goal is to increase membership and commitment,” she explained. “I want to make PRSSA a teamwork organization.”

The rest of the event focused on new opportunities that are available to members next year, including the chance to apply for manager of one of the four PRSSA committees. The eboard committee is looking to get members as involved as possible and make the most out of everyone’s experience with PRSSA.

Club T-shirts were handed out and graduating seniors were given tassels to honor their time and commitment to the club
