SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

IN SHORT provides a home for scholarship on “small” moving images from a diversity of critical and theoretical perspectives. It particularly welcomes close readings of texts and the use of screen captures to highlight specific moments in the text as evidence for a claim. IN SHORT defines “small” moving images inclusively, to embrace short films (documentary, fiction, narrative, experimental, etc.), music videos, commercials, You-tube/viral videos, video art, television episodes, and readings of a single scene from a longer film, etc. IN SHORT defines short as thirty minutes or less in length. Minor deviations from this time frame may be acceptable under certain circumstances.

All submissions should be e-mailed to inshortjournal@gmail.com, to facilitate rapid accessibility to the reviewers. IN SHORT adheres to a policy of blind peer-review. The author's name should not be included in the document itself, but only in the submission email. References to the author's prior work should be masked, and internal identifiers in the text must be avoided.

Manuscript must adhere to the most recent edition of the Modern Language Association citation style. Articles should not exceed 14 pages, double-spaced, with 12 point font, including references, notes, figures, and images. Images should be sent as separate files when submitting and placement of those images should be noted within the text. Titles are limited to 75 characters, including spaces.

Nicole Richter, Editor, can be reached by email at: inshortjournal@gmail.com and by telephone at: (+1) 305-284-6706.
