Panel about Latinos & the 2012 Presidential Elections with Univision's Maria Elena Salinas

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists presents a discussion about Latinos and the 2012 Presidential Elections and World Elections featuring Univision’s Maria Elena Salinas at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 in the School of Communication's Shoma Hall, room 3053.

2012 is an election year in the United States and the following Latin American countries: Dominican Republic in May; Mexico in July; and Venezuela in October.

Panelists from each country will discuss the highlights of these electoral races: leading candidates, campaign coverage, and the impact on Latinos in the U.S.

The rise of the Latino population in U.S. makes it imperative to pay attention to the political changes in our hemisphere.

Journalists, communication students and general public are welcome to attend the first of a panel series on Hispanics this election year.  After the panel,  there will be a Q & A.

Additional panelists include: Julio Cesar Camacho from Actualidad 1020 AM Miami and Dario Medrano, a Dominican journalist.
