National Writer Program | Her Campus | Remote – Apps Close Sept. 30

Become a Her Campus National Writer
How it Works
Writers select the section(s) they wish to write for and are assigned to a national editor, but have the option to contribute across sections. Writers are required to sign up for two four-hour shifts per month, where they work with their editor on pitching and writing timely news. Writers will also work on one to two weekly assignments per month, which are more in-depth pieces that may have a service or feature element. The pitch-to-live time for a weekly assignment is about one week. Writers are encouraged to add their own voice to articles and communicate their unique perspective. Reported news features, columns, and op-eds can also be discussed, workshopped, and pitched with your editor and are absolutely encouraged.
Program Benefits
In addition to day-to-day, hands-on feedback and published clips on a national media site, our national writers are also part of a robust ecosystem built to support their professional development, which includes:
- Opportunity to receive internship credit (pending individual school policy)
- Ability to join weekly edit meeting to meet, interact with, and learn from our full-time editorial team
- Monthly workshops on editorial skills
- Semesterly paid virtual lunch with guest speakers in media
- Annual resume/cover letter review by a Her Campus editor
- Virtual “coffee with an editor” once per month
- Opportunity to earn HCXO shop credit
- Opportunity to be featured on the Her Campus social channels
- Ability to get letters of recommendation from the full-time editorial team
- First to hear about HCM internship and job opportunities

Videographer / Editor | Life By The Bow | Florida Keys
Job Posted May 20, 2026 | Broadcast Journalism, Electronic Media, Motion Pictures
Videographer / Editor | Life By The Bow | Florida Keys

We are currently looking for a highly skilled, full-time videographer and editor to join our team. This position would support two brands: Life By The Bow, a YouTube-based outdoor and fishing lifestyle brand, and Avail Gear, an apparel company connected to that audience and lifestyle.
Life By The Bow produces long-form YouTube content centered around fishing, boating, travel, and life on the water. The content is story-driven and often filmed in dynamic outdoor environments, including offshore and coastal settings. Avail Gear is a clothing brand that complements that same lifestyle and also requires consistent content creation and social media support.
This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a strong work ethic, a sharp creative eye, and the ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced production environment. This is a full-time salaried position, and compensation is dependent on experience and negotiable.
The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of social media management, including posting daily content, responding to direct messages, private messages, and comments, and helping maintain a consistent and professional brand presence across platforms. They must also be highly experienced in editing long-form YouTube content, with a strong understanding of pacing, intercutting camera angles, and storytelling in a show-style format. The ability to manage large creative projects from start to finish is essential.
On the production side, applicants must be confident shooting handheld on a Sony FX3 and highly capable of operating a DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone. Because much of the content is filmed on and around the water, candidates must be comfortable in offshore and marine environments and cannot be prone to seasickness.
This role also requires frequent travel, so a valid passport is a must. Applicants must be able to adapt to a constantly changing schedule, stay organized under pressure, and be ready to move when production calls for it. While editing can be done remotely, the person in this role must still be physically present for filming.
Applicants must already live in South Florida or be willing to relocate. This is generally a five-day-per-week position, although the schedule may shift depending on filming needs
