Job Summary

INTERNSHIPS AT STORYCORPS

The StoryCorps Student Internship Program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in a degree-granting program who are interested in gaining valuable experience in a creative, fast-paced nonprofit organization — ideally, for school credit as part of their degree requirements. Please note that we do not currently accept applications from high school students.

StoryCorps interns bring a diverse set of experiences, skills, and most importantly, a willingness to learn and to contribute to our mission and goals. StoryCorps’ mission is to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world. As part of that mission, StoryCorps actively works to ensure our programming is inclusive of people of all backgrounds and beliefs. WHAT OUR PROGRAM HAS TO OFFER:

Access: All interns have the unique opportunity to participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the goals and mission of StoryCorps.

Training: Interns receive a comprehensive week-long training and StoryCorps orientation, including exposure to all departments, initiatives, and tiers of service.

Development: Interns learn valuable professional skills during their time at StoryCorps. Intern supervisors place special emphasis on growth and learning, beginning with individual goal setting at the start of each session. In addition, StoryCorps sponsors a bimonthly lunch series devoted to intern professional development. During each “Lunch & Learn,” department leaders present on a wide range of topics, including department overviews, career advice, and building professional skills.

PROGRAM SPECIFICS:

  • The StoryCorps student internship program is unpaid. However, student interns receive a weekly stipend of $80 to reimburse lunch and transportation expenses during the term of their internship.
  • Our program runs in three sessions: Spring (from January through May), Summer (From June through August), or Fall (from September through December).
  • StoryCorps student internships require a commitment of 10-20 hours per week.
  • StoryCorps student interns may arrange to receive school credit upon program completion.
  • Student Interns will be required to provide an official copy of their student transcript.
  • StoryCorps student interns also benefit from mentorship from their StoryCorps supervisor, a robust professional development program (including workshops on cover letters, resumes, and interviewing skills each session), and valuable experience in StoryCorps’ fast-paced and creative work environment.

International Applicants: Individuals who are not U.S. citizens, but who reside in the U.S., may participate in the StoryCorps internship program if (1) if they are lawful permanent residents; or (2) if they are non-immigrant aliens with F-1 or J-1 visa status, who are bona fide students residing in the U.S. solely to pursue a course of study at a recognized, approved institution of education.

Description:

Love movies? D-Mak Productions, one of the nation’s fastest growing production companies, is looking for qualified interns for the Fall 2018 semester.

Interns will assist on marketing campaigns for upcoming and currently released movies, learn the strategy behind promotional and publicity work, interact with local press and media partners, and help reach audiences at the grassroots level. We’re looking for bright, energetic, creative self-starters with strong detail orientation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communications, public relations and marketing majors are strongly encouraged, but all majors will be considered.

These positions are only open to those currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.

College Ambassadors (Unpaid):

  • Work on all films released by D-Mak Productions during that semester.
  • Primarily work from home/campus and must have access to computer, Internet and phone service.
  • Work on-site at evening and/or weekend movie screenings or events, as necessary.
  • The number of hours worked is determined by project, averaging approximately 10-15 hour per week.

As part of the internship syllabus, CAs will each make monthly presentations to staff demonstrating their accomplishments, as well as complete a portfolio piece to be used in future job interviews. College credit may be obtained for either position, as available from individual schools.

EDUACATION

 

  •  Bachelor / University Diploma in ADVERTISING or DIGITAL MARKETING

 

KNOWLEDGE

* Will be part of the Netsonic Miami team, specialized in Influencer Marketing and On line video campaigns

 

* Support to the sales team for the elaboration of commercial proposals, meetings with clients social strategies, implementation and monitoring of campaigns

 

* Use of Social Tools for the search of Influencers in Latin America and the USA, elaboration of files, as well as campaign and reporting follow-ups

 

* Relationship with media / creative agencies and direct clients for the correct preparation of proposals and campaign executions

 

* Work closely with Netsonic's internal departments in Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Spain, backoffice tasks necessary for the campaigns,

 

* Qualitative / quantitative reporting of influencers and online video campaigns

The UM Office of Sustainability is looking for a Communication and Outreach Coordinator intern.

- Unpaid position is open this summer (May 14 to Aug 3), this fall ( Sept 10 to Dec 7) and Spring 2019 (Jan 7 to April 28)

- 15 hours per week. Blocks of 4 to 6 hours required. 8 hours remotely, 7 hours in office or on events.

- Applicants need to major in Communication, minor in ECS is a plus. Applicants can be Undergraduate or Graduate students specializing in Social media strategy, Filming, Public Relations.

- The Communication and Outreach Coordinator will need to show autonomy, good organizational skills. Applicant will need to work on projects, in a very independent way, with deadlines and deliverables in mind.

Applicant need to be profficient in MS Office, Adobe suite, CMS website application, film editing softwares and social media applications.

- The Office of Sustainability offers different programs listed on miami.edu/sustainability.

The CO Coordinator will monitor, promote and enhance those programs .

She/he will design a comprehensive Social --Media Strategy for the Office of Sustainability  (event promotion, programs participation) both for students and staff.

The Coordinator will review the OS website, and offer to the Sustainability manager a series of recommendations aligning with OS goals.

The coordinator will focus on filming, editing and promoting short movies for the OS different programs and reporting on some events.
