We are actively seeking applications for internships with The Chautauquan Daily this summer and I write to request your help in spreading the word to your students. The Daily provides a unique experience for enterprising student reporters, copy editors, photographers and news designers, and those interested in digital and multimedia engagement. Daily interns are allowed latitude and creativity in performing their roles while simultaneously receiving close supervision and professional guidance — all to enhance their continued growth and development. And as the official newspaper of Chautauqua Institution, a world-renowned center for arts and culture, the Daily reaches a group of informed and critical readers like no other community newspaper in the United States.
Internships with the Daily run June 12 to Aug. 24, 2018. Interns receive a full-season Chautauqua Institution gate pass, provided housing on or near the Institution grounds, and a stipend for living expenses. I hope you'll post the attached flier to share with your students, particularly those passionate about arts and community journalism.

Intern Job Description:
- Assistant to the Executive Director in all aspects of research, scheduling, scouting and development; 1-2 days per week
- Social Media and website management; graphic design skills a plus
- Scheduling talent for weekly events: writers, actors and performers
- Scouting: sorting through headshot and reel submissions, attending scouting events by choice
- Research: obtaining source credits and footage to support TV show network pitches
- Editing video and audio reels; proficiency with iMovie and Twisted Wave a plus
- Must be enrolled in 4-year program majoring in entertainment: acting, writing, directing, filmmaking, performing arts, communications, production, etc.
- Able to travel to the downtown office ( offices are at FilmGate Miami)

The job would be from June 12 to August 13. Duties would include conceiving and shooting video content of the campers, staff and activities, as well as editing and merging photos, music and narration into production segments. Applicants would also be building those segments into a 90-minute end-of-camp presentation. Applicants must be proficient in Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.
Salary for the summer is $2,500 - $3,500 depending on experience, and we would also provide housing, meals, travel expenses, staff shirts, internet access and a laundry service. We offer internship credits as well.

Internships are available for students experienced in video, documentary & interview production as well as photography.
